Full-day workshops - £ 140 per person (max 6 people)

The full day session takes place on the wonderful Yorkshire coast or in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales (exact location and meeting point to be confirmed nearer the time)

A full-day workshop continues along the same theme as the half-day sessions.

The benefit of a full-day session is the flexibility it allows in visiting a few different places on the day (if required).

The full-day course are limited to a maximum of 6 persons per session.

Each session lasts between 8 - 10 hours (depending on the time of year the session is due to take place).

Please note that start time is 10am (for workshops held between 1st Oct - 31st March) and 11am (April - September) for the full day workshops.

By the end of the workshop, you should have a good understanding about composition and light and the impact they have on your photographs. You shoul abe able to look at a scene and determine what elements to have in your photograph (and just as importantly,) what to leave out of the shot.

Location - The Yorkshire Coast (exact location will be advised nearer the time of the course).

F.A.Q's

  • Q) Are your workshops classroom based ?
  • A) No. All of our workshops take place on location, none are classroom based.

  • Q) What level of photographer do I need to be?
  • A) Any level. Darren is experienced at teaching photographers of all abilities – from complete beginner to aspiring professionals.

  • Q) What do I need to bring?
  • A) An SLR, Compact System or Bridge camera, (and if applicable any separate lenses), spare batteries and memory cards and tripod (if you have one).
  • There is nothing worse than been wet and miserable, so please wear suitable clothing and footwear (waterproof clothing, walking boots etc).
  • Something to eat and  drink  (it’s so easy forget to bring a drink, but you need to be hydrated or you literally, cant focus)

  • Q) Where are the locations ?
  • A) There are a number of possible locations in the dales  that will be visited and as always, weather and lighting conditions will dictate which of these will be suitable on the day in question.

  • Q) Is transport included ?
  • A) Transport is provided while on location, though you will need your own transport to get you to the meet up point.

  • Q) What if the weather is bad on the day?
  • A) If, the day beforehand, the forecast looks wet/poor, the day can be rearranged for an alternative, mutually convenient, date.

  • Q)  Do I need to be fit
  • A) A reasonable degree of physical fitness is required as some locations may involve a short walk on rough terrain.

  • Q) Is there an age limit ?
  • A) Any persons under the age of 16, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

Anything else

  • Think about what  you want to get out of your session - what are you hoping to achieve form the day ?
  • One of the main aims on any of our courses, is to get you to turn off your cameras 'automatic settings', this allows YOU to make the decisions, not the camera.
  • Read your manual (or bring it with you). All cameras are slightly different and as much as I would like to understand all cameras and their little quirks and foibles. The quicker we find what we require (eg single point focus), we will have more time to photograph.
  • At the end of the session, you will see an instant improvement in your work and you will have the confidence and knowledge to take your photography to the next level.
